Being a Mom - Challenges and Rewards

Being a mom brings joys and adventures that cannot be compared to any other journey in our lives as women.

With these adventures come trials - physical, emotional, financial, intellectual, behavioral...the list goes on. And out of these adventures we experience rewards beyond our wildest dreams; rewards that last a lifetime.

I have experienced single parenthood, bankruptcy, welfare, livelihood challenges, co-parenting with a new spouse and career challenges as part of my adventure.

Some moms have experienced infertility, prenatal or birthing concerns.

Other mothers have experienced separation, divorce, remarriage or all three.

We all have different journeys but share some elements of our adventures in common with one another.

All of us have had moments when we've walked through that valley of the shadow of death and come out better people...better women...better mothers because we've persevered. Some rewards may take days, months, years. Others are immediate. Collectively, they make up the depth of our love for our children and ourselves.
